Igniting Change in the Canadian Fire Service

Established with a clear purpose, the Allied Firefighters of Canada (AFC/APC) is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive fire service nationwide. This mission has been our guiding principle from the beginning, shaping our support for both aspiring and current fire service professionals.

Our Roots:

AFC/APC emerged as a smaller network driven by the vital need for a more diverse fire service across the country. We believe that a stronger national fire service is grounded in inclusive teams at every level.

Building a Brighter Future:

Despite being a relatively new organization, we’re dedicated to:

  • Empowering All:
Building a national support network offering peer mentorship, coaching, and a variety of events to connect members across all stages and departments of their fire service careers.
  • Mitigating Recruitment Challenges:
Providing guidance and resources specifically for those interested in the fire service who come from underrepresented groups, with the goal of diversifying the applicant pool.
  • Education, Training & Development:
Offering educational and training opportunities in various formats to enhance our members’ expertise and skill sets, boosting their resume competitiveness, career sustainability, and advancement potential.
  • Advocating for Change:
Endorsing DEI initiatives to advance equal opportunities and address existing barriers, with the goal of creating a genuinely inclusive work setting.
Join the Movement:

We invite you to join us in building a stronger, more inclusive fire service for all. Together, we can make a difference.
